KINDERGARTEN | THE LAGOON ROOM

Using our play-based approach, we cover the same learning outcomes as in the public schools. 

Our focus on literacy, STEAM, project work, and social skills development will prepare your child for lifelong learning. The classroom is hands-on, interactive, and focused on authentic learning rather than worksheets and rote. From here is is an easy progression to our BEE Primary 1st Grade  or public school.

Overview:

  • BEE Primary 1st  - 3rd Grade is a hybrid model that combines the benefits of home instruction and the more formal classroom instruction by a certified teacher. Together, these meet the 1000 hours of instruction per year requirement. BEE Primary classroom instruction provides 800 hours per year, and parents provide 200 hours per year (one hour per day). Our teachers will provide guidance for this for parents.

  • The mixed-age grouping allows for more cooperative and multi-level learning.

  • The school day consists of large-group learning and small-groups split off for subject learning and grade-specific learning, and project work

​

  • Strong emphasis on a project-based learning approach, with lots of investigative and hands-on opportunities to apply new concepts, develop critical thinking, problem solve, work cooperatively, and make presentations of their work.
